About Shri Sai Nivas Mega Residency
Shri Sai Nivas Mega Residency - for many years known as Mega Dharmashala - is a 156 room guest house in Shirdi, built and run for the devotees of Sai Baba. It is not a commercial hotel chain. It is run by the Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan Trust of Dilsukhnagar, Hyderabad, as part of what the trust does for pilgrims.
The trust behind it
The Shri Shirdi Saibaba Sansthan Trust is better known to many in Hyderabad as the Dilsukhnagar Saibaba Temple, which has been receiving devotees since its inception in 1989. The trust's work covers rituals, tours and accommodation, and after building the temple at Dilsukhnagar it turned to the problem every pilgrim to Shirdi knows: somewhere clean, safe and affordable to stay once you arrive.
Shri Sai Nivas is the answer to that. The trust maintains it so that a family can come for darshan without the cost of the stay becoming the difficulty. That is also why our tariff is published in full, and why the price you are quoted online is the price you pay.
What we offer
156 rooms across eight types, from a three person non air conditioned room to a suite that sleeps seven. Every one of them comes with the same things:
- Hot water 24 hours, and 24x7 power supply
- Purified drinking water, through an RO system
- A non smoking and non alcoholic building throughout
- Housekeeping, television, and 24 hour lift access
- Fire protection walls, smoke detectors certified by the Director General of Fire Services, Government of Maharashtra, and marked emergency exits
- Round the clock security, and ample free parking
- A wheelchair for senior citizens and guests who need one
A stay is 23 hours from the time you arrive, not a fixed check-out hour - so arriving in Shirdi late at night does not cost you a night. Children aged 10 years or below stay free. The full rates are on the tariff page, and each room type has a page of its own if you want the detail before booking.
Where we are
Opposite the Shiva temple, near Sai Ashram, on Ahilyanagar Manmad Road, Shirdi - about 2 km from the Samadhi Mandir. That is a short drive, or a half hour on foot, and auto-rickshaws run at all hours. Being a little back from the temple is why there is room for parking, and part of why the tariff is what it is.
